Bob Holden and Bo Seton at this year’s MCM!
Have a squawk at these two Bathurst winners from 1965 and 1966!
Bo Seton behind the wheel in a beaut tribute to his ‘1966 Bathurst Cooper S’, which is being bought to the event courtesy of the Lucas family in a tribute to Bo.
Recently both Bob Holden and Bo Seton spent time together as Bo transitions from the Gold Coast to the Mid North Coast of NSW where Bob has resided for many years.
After nearly 60 years of racing against each other and not really spending time as mates Bo rang Bob out of the blue and asked if he could go and visit. They sat and talked that afternoon about their time and Bob openly admitted he shed a tear as Bo left after realising they both were very similar in their ideals and beliefs, realising missed opportunities through certain periods in life both on and off track.
We can guarantee a number of things during this year’s Australian Muscle Car Masters….
(1) Bob Holden will be racing his Group A Toyota (still)!
(2) This Cooper S along with a number of cars will be onsite as a tribute to Bo…..and
(3) Bo will be supporting Bob and Bob will be celebrating Bo.
We only ponder what would have occurred if these two blokes had got together in the late 70’s early 80’s as a team?
If you see either at the event – go and shake their hands… and tell them how much they’re admired!
CALLING ALL XT GT OWNERS
Bo is also, of course. the father to Glenn, and his grandson Aaron is now making his name felt in Australian Motorsport. To have three generations of Motorsport among us is such a great thing – and to celebrate their motorsport history, we are dedicating a large area in the Pits for EX-racecars of Bo’s plus a collective of roadcars including Capris, GT 500s and if we can find someone willing to sticker their car up to replicate Bo’s 68 Bathurst XT GT (Zircon Green) then we’d sure be grateful to include that in a very special Parade Lap and Presentation on Pit Straight… SO if you own a Capri, or GT Cortina, we’re looking for a couple – and of course the XT GT which will be joined by genuine Bo Seton tin tops from the Golden Era at this year’s event.
