Heritage Touring Cars (Group C & A)
Heritage Touring Cars are the Legends of Bathurst – the Group C & Group A cars that take us back to a golden era of Australian touring car racing, a period that saw the rise and consolidation of Australian motorsport legends such as Brock, Moffat, Johnston, Richards, Grice, Bond and countless others, driving their unmistakably raw and exhilarating Toranas, Commodores, Falcons, Mazdas, BMWs, Jaguars, Nissans and more. Group C touring car regulations were current from 1973 to 1984, and Group A regulations ran from 1985 to 1992, which in turn made way for the V8 Supercar formula that we know today.
Historic Touring Cars (Nb/Nc)
The Historic Touring Car Association of NSW was established in 1980 to foster and promote Historic Touring Car racing in Australia in conjunction with other forms of Historic Car racing. Group N is recognised as part of the Historic 5th Category and enjoys the benefits extended to that category. Simple, fun and exciting racing! Historic Touring Cars NSW caters for production touring and touring cars built before 31st December 1972.
National Sports Sedans
The SKYE SANDS NATIONAL SPORTS SEDAN SERIES is arguably the most dynamic and exciting motor racing category in the country. The noise and the serious horsepower from the mid mounted engines of these ‘winged and wild’ racers is awe inspiring. Built and raced by a dedicated group of devotees chasing the ultimate in power to weight performance, they share a unique place in Australian motor racing heritage.
Kumho V8 Touring Cars
This touring car category gives the perfect place for ex-V8 Supercars to continue their long and successful lives after they finish in the V8 Supercars Championship and Development Series. Run to the same technical platform, the category is ideal for young drivers wanting a taste of V8s or veterans and businessmen racers with the passion for these cars, many of which are run in the same colours as carried by some of the biggest stars in V8 Supercar racing.
Historic Sports Cars (Group S)
Classic Sports Car Racing in Australia! Group S is one of the fastest growing categories of historic motor racing in Australia, designed to provide a forum for competitors to race cars from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s in a form similar to period club racing.
Trans Am 2 Series (TA2)
Designed, built and tuned with only one thing in mind —performance. TA2 combines the prowess of a purpose-built racing chassis and a 525 horsepower engine package that causes every head in the paddock to turn and take notice! The same-spec racing series sets driver against driver: skill behind the wheel, not the money spent on an engine, is what sets the winners apart.
Master Blasts
Famous fast and furious take to the track at MCM18! Precious, renown race cars (which no longer race) take to the track for two feature Master Blast sessions in this year’s Muscle Car Masters!
