South African Muscle Cars with an Aussie Flavour
Release the Rhinos, uncover the Peranas, open the cage for the SS Chevrolets – in fact, let all of those ex-South African monsters with Australian Birth Certificates back into the country so we can see them in the flesh during the winter safari!.
During the upcoming Queens Birthday long weekend June 9th – 11th Sydney Motorsport Park invites owners of EX South African Fairmont GTs, Peranas, Rancheros, Kammandos, El Caminos and the mighty GM Chevrolet SS Muscle Cars to the Australian Muscle Car Masters onsite at Sydney Motorsport Park where you’ll witness a great selection of Aussie and export period Muscle.
All the drivers from the period will be onsite, but more importantly will be a collection of South African cars that the general fans still don’t understand!
All cars are invited over the two days of the event with your cars featured prominently inside the Pit Area on display in specially designed locations (can be stored securely overnight) close to all the action with ticketing provided for both driver and passenger free of charge.
We’re also including Parade Laps during the event led by an authentic pace car OR you can enter an element called MC HAMMER TIME* where you can go hard in dedicated 15min sessions (Sat/Sun) including corporate entry Sunday (for 2) for only $300 per car!
We’d love to see South African muscle at the event so much so our event organiser is driving his XW Fairmont GT from Far North Queensland. For details of entry and ticketing to the event simply email or call: Todd Martin

Muscle Car Masters set for June long weekend in 2018
15/12/2017: Sydney Motorsport Park’s long-running and ever-popular muscle car festival, the Australian Muscle Car Masters (MCM), will take place on the June long weekend in 2018, before returning to its traditional home on Father’s Day from 2019 onwards.
Changes to the national motorsport calendar have necessitated the move in 2018, with the event temporarily replacing the Sydney Classic Speed Festival on June 9/10 before retaking its traditional Father’s Day slot on August 31/September 1, 2019.
“Our racing categories are so important to the DNA of Muscle Car Masters, and we’ve worked hard with the category managers to ensure a fantastic race schedule for the 2018 event on the June long weekend,” said Glenn Matthews, CEO of the Australian Racing Drivers’ Club, which runs both the event and Sydney Motorsport Park.
“In a move endorsed by our competitors, spectators and ARDC Members, we will return to our traditional date of Father’s Day in 2019 and beyond.”
The Muscle Car Masters, which is now in its 13th year, celebrates our country’s Muscle Car heritage and the drivers who raced them – and continue to race them!
Categories for the 2018 event include Heritage Touring Cars (Group C & A), Historic Touring Cars (Nb/Nc), National Sports Sedans, Kumho V8 Touring Cars, Historic Sports Cars (Group S), the Trans Am series in conjunction with Trans Am 2 (TA2), and a speed event which will be confirmed in the new year.
Off track, the paddock will again be full of colour and action, with feature displays and tributes, nods to the big muscle car anniversaries of 2018, a meet-and-greet session with legend race drivers, the huge annual show n’ shine, and merchandise alley.
Spectators are admitted free of charge to the competitor’s paddock and undercover grandstand, and kids 15 and under are also free.

MCM Live Show begins tonight!
LIVE SHOW – we’re excited to bring you two weeks of live stream programming featuring some very special Muscle Car Masters legends and guests.
These shows will be broadcast live to our FB and YouTube channels, giving you the chance to ask your questions during the broadcast and hear some great stories from Australian Motorsport.
Our first guest for our Sydney Motorsport Park Australian Muscle Car Masters preview show is Peter Doulman. A long-time campaigner in touring cars, being a crowd favourite privateer with his BMW M3s and Supercars exploits, we’re excited to chat to Peter about his career and the big weekend of Muscle Cars coming up. A 2-litre touring car champion in 1993, in an ex-Brock M3 to boot, Doulman was no slouch on the circuit.
Now, Peter is involved with the Heritage Touring Cars as the DSO as well as Sports Sedans where he runs cars for Grant Doulman (his son) and Simon Copping. Two cars which will be up the front of the field come the racing weekend. So, what would you like to know more about from Peter? BMW days at Bathurst? The early ATCC and V8 Supercars era? Or maybe Sports Sedans and Heritage Touring cars and what the best cars are that are still racing now.
So tune in tonight, Wednesday Oct 18th and next Wednesday 25th at 7pm for an hour of fun!
